My Story

I grew up amongst a mix of artists, musicians, health care workers and teachers. There were lively dinner table discussions in our Fremantle home revolving around politics, literature, art and social justice. These discussions with family and friends inspired my curiosity about the human condition.

My interest was in the connection between our personal dynamics and wider family, community, social and political circles. This led me to study journalism and political science. For most of my twenties and thirties I worked in public policy, research and communications. I was also fortunate to be able to travel through South East Asia, Europe, UK, Africa and the US. Desiring a closer look at our relationships with ourselves and each other, I followed my interests and transitioned to psychology in 2008. For the last 15 years, I’ve worked providing individual, couple and family counselling and managing mental health and community services.

In 2013 I opened my own private practice. I offer a non-judgmental, solution focused approach, providing a supportive environment in which clients can explore their challenges and aspirations.

In addition to private practice, I also assist workplaces with managing the impact of suicide and sudden loss on staff and clients. Commencing in 2019, I have researched and developed an evidence-based program, 'Workplace Aware – Prepare Respond Support', to aid workplaces in mitigating risk and responding effectively to these psychosocial harms.

In essence, my career has been a journey of listening, learning, finding solutions and providing support, a journey that began in my family home and continues today.
